Netiquette is an important part of netculture, not only on our portal. Since we are operating an international portal and offer a communication and information platform for people with different cultures, points of view and values, it is twice as important to adhere to some rules.
Do's:
1. Being human ...
Even a virtual network is used by people, don't forget that !
2. It's not what you say but how you say it ...
In our portal you can contact other members via mail as well as through chats or life conferences. There can be company representatives amongst ?other members?. People, who can push your own career and/or can help you in a different way. So please watch your tone for your own interst.
3. Nobody is perfect ...
Show consideration for different opinions, interests, skills, educations, points of views and attitudes.
4. Be cosmopolitan ...!
Accept other cultures ? here in the club alone are more than 80 represented ...
5. Be who you are ...
Stick to the truth and show who you are. This first and foremost means to fill out the profile completely and to upload your own picture. You later decide individually who you unlock your contact data for. So don't worry, your privacy is guaranteed at all times.
Dont's:
1. Personal hostility, sexual attacks, illegal, indecent and/or polemic behavior
2. Using pseudonyms instead of the real name, imcomplete data or missing resp. wrong picture
3. Sending hidden business offers and advertising messages (network marketing), invitations to controversial organisations or religious communities as well as self-promotion for services or products
4. Mass postings and/or sending chain letters or mass mails (SPAM)
5. Private or industrial surveys or statistic polls without collusion with the portal operators
Note:
Adherence to netiquette is a requirement for using this portal, part of the General Standard Terms and Conditions and is accepted with registration. In case of violation members will be admonished, in case of repeated violations they will be expelled from the club.
Should you receive unrequired advertising mails from other users, please contact the club operators and forward the respective information or mail. The same applies for annoyances and violations of the AGBs or the netiquette.

You won't get a second chance to leave a good impression
If you use the internationalStudentsClub the right way, you can expand your professional contacts and your horizon with its help. If you have regular online contact with employers and coworkers, then keep in mind that you present yourself in a positive light by following these suggestions:
1. Your profile should always be up-to-date. Employers or club members could get a wrong impression of you if your data is not updated or if you haven't uploaded a new picture of yourself. A hint: Never use snap shots!
2. Make contact with people from all sectors. Some make the mistake of filling up their online contact list with names to make an impression. However, your online presence should represent your ability to make contacts to people who you could also meet in real life.
3. Pay attention to the number of contacts. If you have to many online contacts, people could ask themselves whether you have enough time left for working. On the other hand, too few contacts could leave the impression that you have anti-social tendencies or that you are difficult in dealing with others.
4. Stay in touch with former school or college friends and coworkers. If your contact list doesn't show connections with people from your last chapter in life, people who look at your profile could think you were unable to make and keep up contacts.
5. Receive (and give) feedback. You might think receiving an online feedback is unnecessary but it is an affirmation of your person and a compliment for you. It is always a good idea to give a feedback after receiving one. That shows respect for the other one.
